Why It Matters

The Right Charger.

Installed Right.

A Level 2 home charger is one of the most practical upgrades a Calgary EV owner can make — but it’s not just a matter of running a wire and plugging something in. Alberta’s 2024 Canadian Electrical Code requires a mandatory load calculation before any Level 2 charger is installed, and the installation must be permitted and inspected. Getting this wrong can affect your home insurance and your panel’s safety.
  • Level 2 adds 40 km/hr of range — Level 1 takes 3–4x longer
  • A dedicated 240V circuit prevents panel overloading and fire risk
  • Permitted installs may qualify for up to $1,000 in federal rebates
  • EVEMS systems can eliminate the need for a full panel upgrade
  • EV-ready homes command a growing premium at resale

Signs You May Need a Level 2 Charger

  • You recently purchased or are planning to buy an electric vehicle
  • You're currently charging from a standard 120V wall outlet and it's too slow
  • Your car isn't reaching a full charge overnight before your morning commute
  • You want to take advantage of Enmax's off-peak EV charging rates
  • Your garage doesn't have a dedicated 240V outlet near your parking spot
Not sure what your home needs? We’ll assess your panel and give you honest options.

What's Included

Complete EV Charger Installation

Load Calculation

Before recommending a charger or pulling a permit, we run a full CEC Rule 8-200 load calculation to confirm your panel can handle the additional continuous load. This is required by code and protects both you and your home.

Charger Installation

We install a Level 2 (240V) hardwired or outlet-based charging station in your garage or driveway location, properly rated for outdoor or indoor use. We work with all major charger brands.

EVEMS (Black Box) Option

If your home is on a 100-amp service and your panel is already near capacity, we can install an EVEMS. It monitors your home’s total power usage in real time and manages the charger automatically — so you don’t need a full service upgrade to charge your vehicle.

Permit & Inspection

We pull the required permit from the City of Calgary or your local municipality, handle the inspection coordination, and ensure the installation passes the Safety Codes Officer’s review.
